A lesson on the topic of Digitial Citizenship was developed for 10 year-old students. The main resource was a comic book 'Digizen'. The story depicted the common online activities of young children when playing online multiplayer games, focusing on rights and responsibilities as digital citizens.The story had 3 main scenarios:-Cyberbullying:Chris continuously lost against Elaine when playing online. Elaine wrote a public comment in order to tease him and everyone added their comments. This ended up in Chris feeling disappointed with himself and bullied.-Respect/Balance between online & offline:Elaine's mother called her for dinner because usually dinner time is family time. Elaine continues playing while her family is angry at her.-Strangers online:Paul sends them a request to join in the game. Chris and Elaine do not know who Paul is and there is no information online about him. They do not know whether to accept him or not.The story in the comic has no ending on purpose. This was done in order to give space for children to finish the story themselves. Students, in groups, wrote a short script on how the story might have ended - different groups discussed different scenarios. Each group was given an opportunity to do a role play in front of the class. Discussions followed and students reflected on their online rights and responsibilities namely:-right to express and share ideas with others online-right to privacy-right for a safe online environment-right for help-respect others-keep personal information safe-protect online reputation-report harmful online behaviour

Hotlines allow members of the public to report illegal content on the internet. The hotlines then deal with the reports by passing them on to the appropriate body (Internet Service Providers, the police, hotlines in other countries) in accordance with their operating rules. This helps to reduce the flow of illegal content and contributes to the effective protection of internet users. Hotlines are coordinated by INHOPE funded by the Safer Internet Programme.
